LyneGuide ("we", "us") is a nightlife app that surfaces real-time
and predicted line waits at bars, clubs, and restaurants. This page
explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how to remove it.
What we collect
-
Account. Email address (Firebase Authentication) and an
optional unique display name you choose.
-
Location. Approximate location when the app is open
(sorts nearby venues, distance), and optional background geofence
crossings (prompts you to report a wait when you arrive). Location stays
on your device until you submit a queue report; once you submit, the
coordinates of that submission are stored alongside it so we can
validate proximity.
-
Queue reports + venue affinity. Each time you tell the
app you are in a line we store the venue id, the timestamp, a coarse
location snapshot, and a per-venue affinity score derived from dwell
time and explicit thumbs-up / thumbs-down votes.
-
User-generated content. Vibe reactions (emoji) you tap
on a venue and venues you suggest adding. Vibe reactions are anonymized
in the public aggregate.
-
Diagnostics. When the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics
records a stack trace, the device model, OS version, and a hashed user
id. We use this only to fix bugs.
What we do not collect
- We do not sell your data to third parties.
-
We do not store the contents of your phone's address book or your
location history outside of queue reports you submit.
-
We do not show third-party advertising banners. The only third-party
commercial relationships are optional rideshare buttons (Uber, Lyft)
that, if approved, may include an affiliate code so LyneGuide earns a small
commission. Tapping a rideshare button hands you off to that app and we
do not share your account info with the rideshare partner.
Who sees your data
-
You. Everything you create is readable by you.
-
Other LyneGuide users. Aggregated, anonymized vibe and wait
data shows up on venue pages. Individual report content does not.
-
LyneGuide operators. Engineers on the team access
production data only to diagnose crashes, respond to support email, or
review moderation reports.
How long we keep data
Queue reports are kept for analytics. Crash diagnostics are retained for
up to 90 days.
How to delete your data
Open the LyneGuide app → Profile → Danger Zone → Delete My Account. This
permanently removes your account, favorites, reports, and display-name
claim, then deletes your Firebase Auth record. If you cannot access the
app, email
matthewkpapas2@gmail.com from
the address tied to your account and we will delete it within 30 days.
Children
LyneGuide is not intended for users under 17. We do not knowingly collect data
from anyone under 17. If you believe a minor has registered, email us and
we will remove the account.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at
the top of this page. We will also surface a short in-app notice when the
change affects what we collect.
